Who is responsible

Your research data — stays with you

  1. The desktop app processes everything on your computer — your data never leaves it. On the website, your data is sent to our server only to run the analysis you request, is processed in memory, and is not stored — we keep no copy of your data or results.
  2. Settings, saved figure styles and work in progress are stored only in your browser (local storage) so you can continue later. You can delete them at any time under Settings → Saved work, switch autosave off entirely, or clear your browser data. The desktop app stores nothing by itself.

What we do collect

  1. Account details: name, email address, affiliation, country, and your plan/subscription status. We use them to provide the service, and we keep them for as long as you have an account (legal basis: performing our contract with you).
  2. Sign-in security: one-time email codes and a "trusted device" cookie so we can notice sign-ins from new browsers. These are functional, not tracking.
  3. Payments: checkout is handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details under its own privacy policy; we never see your card number — we receive only what is needed to activate your subscription (email, plan, billing period).
  4. Referrals: If you use our referral programme, we store your referral code, which accounts subscribed using it, and the resulting discounts, to operate the programme.
  5. Support: what you send via the contact form or support tickets is used to answer you and kept only as long as needed. Student-status documents are used solely to support your plan eligibility, are kept while your student subscription is active (at most 12 months per document), and are then deleted; only the outcome is kept.
  6. Email: account and support email is sent through Resend from EU-region infrastructure. As part of providing the service, MinutePlot (Opimis AB) may occasionally email you about your account and subscription — for example sign-in codes, renewal notices, important fixes, new releases, or changes to these policies. We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.

Literature search

  1. The literature search sends only the keywords you type and the label names you confirm — never your numbers — to free scholarly databases (Crossref, Europe PMC, Semantic Scholar), which answer under their own terms and policies.

Where data lives, and your rights

  1. Our servers are hosted in the EU. Where a processor operates internationally (for example Paddle), transfers are covered by standard contractual safeguards.
  2. No advertising, no tracking cookies, no analytics profiles. The only cookies are the ones that sign you in and remember trusted devices.
  3. For aggregate visit statistics we derive a coarse location (country and region) from IP addresses; raw IP addresses are not stored for this purpose.
  4. You can ask us at any time to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you — deleting your account removes it. You can also complain to a supervisory authority; in Sweden that is IMY (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten).
  5. If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will announce it in the app or by email.
